Josef K Young And Stupid

While waiting to fix "The Only Fun in Town," here’s a five for this excellent collection. Beautiful "Chance Meeting" in both its versions. The guitar riffs reminded me of the Diaframma of Federico Fiumani (the post-Sassolini ones), certainly an admirer of typically wave sounds, and the more raw Television. It’s true that the sounds of Franz Ferdinand aren’t all that different.

I listened to Josef K. The album, "Young & Stupid," considering it's a compilation, I'd say it's excellent. Indeed, especially regarding the first ten tracks (essentially the singles), the comparison to bands like Joy Division and The Sound is quite fitting. "Chance Meeting" is stunning, in both of its versions. Among the tracks from the Peel session (which, I might be overstating it, but at times remind me of bands like the Minutemen/firehose alongside Television with some of their "guitar work"), I want to point out the "plagiarism" of the riff from "Heart of Song" by Litfiba in "Maudit." I will make an effort to track down "The Only Fun in Town." Thanks again for the more than interesting recommendation. vortex, comments like yours are truly appreciated. It's great that you appreciated, but especially grasped, the contents of the review.

odradek, I didn't know them, but I found this interesting website regarding it (I'm talking about the Panoramics, of course): link rotto - I believe you can also download the album.

hugoniot, Adelphi. Anyway, I found it (ordered). With a bit of patience, while you wait, you should be able to find it without difficulty.

I'm not saying they make me want to invade Poland, but I really don't like them. Cute idea, but the sound is anything but original – YMO were doing something not too dissimilar thirty years ago, and the quality was on another level – and I am honestly surprised by the (still relatively) success they've had, which seems to stem more from a superficial nostalgia than anything genuine.

Of course, the vote went to the sole review.

Probably "selling" videocassettes was the only good thing Veltroni achieved in his entire "political/intellectual" career. The legendary videocassettes of L'Unità, but even those wouldn't be enough to justify their purchase today. As for the review and Antonioni, I leave the difficult judgment to future generations: I expect a slaughter.

It's unknown, already (but better unknown than known through a film adaptation, perhaps by Muccino and with Will Smith "lightened" for the role of poor Emanuel). I searched in vain for "Il Primo Dio" this winter. I will try some online stores, hoping for better luck. In the meantime, before someone can beat me to it: EMANUEL CARNEVALI, STARVED IN THE KITCHENS OF AMERICAS, EXHAUSTED BY FATIGUE IN THE DINING ROOMS OF AMERICA, YOU WROTE! AND THERE'S STRENGTH IN YOUR WORDS (quote).

I haven't read Carroll's book, but the movie (or the animated film, if you prefer) is truly enjoyable. I always watch it with pleasure. All in all, I agree with you (as I assume that was your true intent) when you say that, in terms of content and "stories," Disney has lost its touch in recent years. I can't speak for Pixar or Dreamworks, but I don't think the transition was the main cause of the change.
