It starts to make sense, but you haven't replied to post 34.

"My comment on the 'not-so-clean' things you wrote, moreover, came AFTER one of your insults that was clearly (and on a strictly personal level) directed at me." What insult? Damn, tell me which one.

At this point, you can handle it with larrok; I don't know anything about scales, licks, etc... However, I encourage you to be more flexible. You can't think you're always right about everything. Humility is a beautiful thing, believe me.

"Some people should be intellectually banned and 'executed,' doesn’t that sound like a nice thing to say? Meanwhile, 'quaquaraquà' is terribly offensive, of course. 'I've read so many, but so many of those bullshit you’ve written that just hearing about you, with you even dishing out judgments here, is enough to turn my stomach' — this is another example of grace. Good."

@dreamwarrior: I agree with you that Petrucci has become somewhat expressionless lately (and indeed, I stopped at Awake), and I understand the argument about the "complete guitarist." Personally, however, I wouldn’t be so pessimistic regarding Petrucci’s possibilities: the fact is that he has never really wanted to do anything different. I don’t think he’s not capable of it (do you think he’ll keep going with Dream forever? I hope not; he must get tired of doing the same things, right? :). Let’s put it this way: in the strictly metal realm, as you also argue, Petrucci has proven he knows what he’s doing and at least in that field he’s on par with Lukather.

@antoniodeste - on one thing you are right: albeit to your "dismay," you can be irritating at times (and I’m not referring to these comments, quite the opposite), but I don’t understand if when you say "If called into question in this sense with attached slanders or gratuitous offenses" you are referring to me. If so, I ask you to confirm this, explaining your opinion. If I am mistaken, I apologize and invite you to pretend you haven’t read this comment of mine.

Let’s put it this way: I like the way Petrucci sounds more (to be precise, in I&W and Awake; I haven't followed Dream Theater much after that) than Lukather with Toto (he might have done wonders as a solo artist, but I don’t know). Just to give an example, the solo that Petrucci plays in "Under a Glass Moon" doesn’t seem like a gimmick to me (but I guess you do it with your eyes closed), and even someone who doesn't really understand guitar can recognize that what Petrucci is playing in that piece (but let’s say in the whole album - I&W) isn’t something that just any guitarist could accomplish. I fired off another bullshit, didn’t I? I await your serious clarification on this matter (if you can, or rather, if you feel like it).

A shout-out to the legendary rock anthology that honors this page with the usual great comment in style.

Oh yes, Antonio and I have known each other for a lifetime, friends since the good old university days (do you remember the prank on the math professor?? Thinking back on it...hehehe) and I must say that despite the fact that lately, due to trivial reasons, we haven’t spoken to each other, I was pleasantly surprised by your more than positive judgment: honestly, I expected a nice 1, and instead you give me a solid pass. Who would have thought?
