@danverlaine: I'm struggling to bring you some magazines I keep, but I assure you that the critics have never been kind to Queen... @lux: I listen to everything, and what I like, I like... sometimes I have the impression that it's more "cool" to acclaim the most unknown bands (not that they are valid because of that!!... let's be clear) than to speak well of, for example, the Jurassic Queen. Then everyone has their own tastes, no harm in that, but trashing Queen is wrong by default, regardless of the album in question, which is absolutely modest as already mentioned!!!

Same old story, same old squabbles about the worth of certain artists... I agree with those who say that here on de baser there's a tendency to demonize everything that isn't "alternative" enough, but with this album, it's a bit like shooting at the Red Cross... I grew up with early Queen, and I too had a bit of a stuck-up attitude towards their '80s work... It seems to me that this is an honest effort, fitting reasonably well within the context of the times and the band's evolution. It's not an essential album. A score of 3 seems fair to me, even though I can't give anything less than a 4.5 for the band's career. After all, just revisit reviews from days gone by, and you'll find that Mercury and the gang have often been the victims of less than flattering critiques, yet their value and the musical role they've played are indisputable.

Yes, 5 on the emotional wave of the first 2 listens, maybe 6 when I listen to it again, and definitely 7 in November when I hear it live... it seems to me a return to the origins, a less hard album than the last ones, beautiful melodies and lovely atmospheres which, after all, are the best that Wilson and co. know how to do and I believe that’s what those of us who have followed them for a long time were expecting! The suite seems worthy of a concept of distinct value, and the pseudo EP is the cherry on top of an excellent work that definitely does not seem rushed for record label reasons. To each their own tastes; these days, in this genre of music, it’s a real treasure!!!

beautiful "deja vu" (think of it sung by Gabriel!!!!!!) horrible "Your own special way", in this version.... all in all a decent album, and for those interested I recommend "genesis files" from 2002, a double album, definitely more complete. nice review, congratulations!!

simply beautiful!!!....I have some reservations about Santana's talent; I don't think he's a guitar great, even though with just a few chords and simplicity he manages to engage much more than many virtuosos of the instrument. For me, Caravanserai is the best!!!

Even though I've been following Genesis since the dawn of time, I didn't know about the re-recorded parts in the studio of voice and guitar and of "it"... you know what I say... I don't care at all... I found "the lamb" live to be of immense beauty, musically superb, true to the album but with that special energy that the magnificent five knew how to transmit on stage... an essential album... I wouldn't look down on the third CD, but the fourth is absolutely pointless... however, I wouldn't want to forget "second out," perhaps the most beautiful live album of all time!!!!!!
