Is it the same Robert Quine who played with John Zorn?

This title makes me think of two things: the first is that in the Chinese market there are hundreds of millions of potential buyers, and the second is that it’s a joke just like democracy in China, indeed.

@Axel you are a riot!

@Larrok, I’m not clear why you say that the soul is a ridiculous and presumptuous concept; it seems obvious to me that man is different from animals because he has rational intelligence and a conscience and can make his own choices with free will. When you say that "it is absolutely ridiculous to think that the Christian God decided to bestow the soul FIRST on a specific subject," I agree, in fact the Christian God did not exist yet, but it was simply God, who did not bestow the soul on a specific subject but on a species, the same one that has probably evolved from early humans to today.

Well done, nice proposal and great feedback, and then it's interesting another great double bassist with the surname Cohen.

@47 Your comment 102 is very nice. After years of searching here and there, I too am dedicating myself to the deepening of a belief, but I do everything I can not to shut myself off. That's why I try to find that common thread that unites the "truths" through the true aspects of human thought. Instead, I am fighting against this materialistic evil of our culture, as you can also deduce from my review of Capra.

The Buddhist vision, as you describe it (and you know more than I do), seems to me a pantheistic religion, meaning that souls after bodily life merge into a whole. It seems more reasonable to believe instead that the souls of humans retain their individuality; otherwise, it would have no purpose to reincarnate in an evolutionary sense. If we attain nirvana through our moral-spiritual evolution, how can animals evolve in this sense? How will they overcome the trials of our lives if they lack consciousness? I don't believe that animals have a soul, but rather a vital principle, like plants. Words are empty; it’s us who give them meaning. For me, the soul is present in the incarnated human, and the spirit is what the soul is called after bodily death.

@Larrok, I hadn't read your comment before writing mine, anyway I didn't understand what you mean.

I slightly intrude on the matter between 47 and Rebelde, trying to introduce a concept that might help us resolve the issue. We all know about the law of evolution of species, an evolution that, as stated above, is limited to the physical and biological plane. In fact, animals do not evolve morally or intellectually, while humans do. So we can deduce that the human soul is different from the soul of animals. An idea that explains all this is called reincarnation. Our spirit reincarnates in a cycle of earthly and spiritual lives, accumulating knowledge, morals, and intellect throughout its existences, constantly enriching itself toward perfection. If we examine the various religions, we will see that all Eastern religions consider reincarnation a cornerstone of their belief, and even Judaism, as some chapters of the Old Testament discuss it, chapters that were promptly removed by the Church which, at the Second Council, took reincarnation out of the Church's creed. It is also said that this was done to be able to invent purgatory and sell indulgences, but I wouldn’t swear to that.

But what a shame, only two cats commenting on this review, I thought this genre was much more followed instead it’s full of post-metalheads on Debaser. I've taken off the patches from my back at least fifteen years ago.
