Nice review. Supersoul, come on, it’s not just kids who don’t know certain things; my father is seventy and doesn’t even know who Jack Nicholson is.

Beautiful review, Stoney, too bad you forgot at the end that it's just a novel!

Nice review, Enbar77, the movie: cute. I won't rate it because it's been a few years since I watched it and my neurons are lazy.

Since you leave the interpretation of the film's conclusion open, I want to share mine: the protagonist, with his genius, has pushed too far into knowledge, getting too close to phenomena for which humanity is not ready. That's why the migraines, and the fact that as a child he looked at the sun for too long, could be a metaphor or a warning of how he is now burning by getting too close to the divine, not through religion but through mathematical knowledge. In the final scene, in fact, we find him simply contemplating nature, without questioning anything, and when the girl approaches, it's as if to reveal that in the end what matters is human warmth, social interaction, which he always seems to want to escape from.

Great Elect, you anticipated me and I’m glad it was you. The recommendation to watch the film came from a dear friend of mine who experienced a particular moment in his life during which a combination of facts and information led him to profound reflections on how mathematics underpins both real and occult situations, from nature to religious systems like the Kabbalah. The film is haunting in reflecting how man is not a sufficiently developed creature to grasp certain truths, opening wide spaces for reflection for those who possess a heightened sensitivity towards certain phenomena that, however esoteric they may seem, are scientifically plausible. Science and mathematics are divine languages. The choice of black and white and the handheld camera, as you emphasize, contribute greatly to creating a very particular, claustrophobic atmosphere. The setting of the protagonist's room slightly reminds me of Gilliam's "Brazil." Finally, a great choice; this is a film that will appeal to many debaseriani.

Extraordinary! The only rock group capable of reaching a superb level of improvisation (aside from Henry Cow). A must-listen and a must-relisten!

Truffaut making science fiction? I really didn't know that!
