I’ve never really had any problems, and yet I’ve turned out just fine. I have eighteen years of smoking and other small chemical experiences behind me. Or perhaps you mean that the problem is that we live in a too materialistic society? Surely not, because that would concern everyone. Man has often made use of drugs, but always within a transcendental and ritualized context. Today that wouldn’t make any sense, and so the transcendental, or simply the escape, is to roll a nice joint after eight hours of work spent in a damn factory doing repetitive tasks to produce something that will end up as trash in six months.
