Ensoph Rex Mundi X-Ile

Eeeeeh, MaisonMorte! You're right, they did a fantastic job on the cover because they really manage to give it an absolutely Ensoph interpretation without it being in bad taste. But, as I mention in the review, the atmosphere of the album suffers a bit; it would have been better if it had ended with "Come In Uno Specchio." Regarding which album to start with... I started with Opus Dementiae, which I think is the peak along with this Rex Mundi X-Ile. Then there's Project X-Katon, which I think is a bit below these last two. However, the first album, Bleeding Womb Of Ananke, is the one I listened to last: it's very different from the subsequent albums, more mystical, ethnic, and arcane, with a more pronounced prog touch. I haven't reviewed it yet; I wanted to research well on a conceptual level to do a thorough job. Who knows when I'll manage to do that! Anyway, yes, I recommend starting with Opus Dementiae. "Sophia's Fall" and "Proudly Divine" are really impressive! :D Live?! Damn, they really create an alienating atmosphere. Look, N-Ikonoclast on stage is a spectacle; it's hypnotizing, it captures attention in an incredible way! :D And they manage to sound practically just like on the album, with the same samples, the same timing. In an interview I read a few years ago, Xenos, the drummer, said, "just know how to play to a metronome and everything turns out well." So this also shows their technical skills - really remarkable - to reproduce such an intricate sound. Seeing them live is always a wonderful experience.

I quote Jurix: in my limited knowledge of Morbid, I have noticed the quality of "Where The Slime Lives" :)

Really nice review. The proposal is too hybridized, I don't think it's for me. If it had been a blend of folk and experimentalism, I would have given it a thought, but there's just too much stuff thrown together (some things I don't like at all, for example, hip hop). To you, 5 :)
