Josh Schwartz The O.C.

I watched it years ago; it pissed me off by the second season. Luckily, it's no longer around. Last year, I had a CEL (Collaborator and Language Expert) for language training who was right from O.C.... and he said it’s not like what you see in that show-bullshit.

Hell is right, don’t let negative comments influence you too much. You know, music is so subjective. Comments are fine for getting a minimal and vague idea, but through personal listening, these feedbacks might not resonate with personal taste. Nevertheless - while I believe it falls well below the average of their output - for now, I’d give it a 3. I reserve the right to take more time to process it. PS: for me, Anathema died with "Judgement," even though I prefer to remember them with the mist surrounding "The Silent Enigma."

@Fede: no, it doesn't resemble it. I really like TGCD, but I can tell you that - as it says at the end of the review - this is not a continuation of TGCD, even though there are some points of contact. I'm trying to assimilate this new album, but I already know it won't reach the approval rating of the previous chapters; it seems too far below the standards. @Casamorta: hey beautiful! How’s the thesis on the cemetery going?! :D Thanks for saying you trust my opinion, but be careful, it doesn't mean you won't like it, you know... Let me know ;-)

Oh no, I'm sorry, we have to stop the discussion at 2012 because after that the world ends! XD Anyway, okay, no problem ;-) It's normal to have different viewpoints.

Uh, there would be a lot to discuss about the sound of Katatonia, especially regarding the role of doom in their sound post-Discouraged Ones. However, if I have to talk about doom influences in their subsequent works - as I already mentioned in a comment on the latest review of Tonight's Decision - I would say that there are striking tracks in "Distrust" from DO and in "Journey Through Pressure" from TGCD. But as a general sound, I think it's incorrect to label it as doom...

Wait... still in comment #25, with the talk about the acoustic guitar and doom, were you referring to Novembre? If yes, then disregard what I said in the last two comments XD

(If we were to talk about the few remnants of doom in the sound of Katatonia - and there are - we would have to embark on a long discussion; but we cannot speak of doom metal as a genre in their proposal.)

@Stanne90: however, I emphasize that Katatonia haven't had anything remotely doom for years (referring to your comment #25...it's not the acoustic guitar over a doom base - which is nonexistent here - that makes a song "Opeth," I'm talking about something much more structured, obviously).

The talk about wax was addressed to those who define this record as a "masterpiece" or even as their best album (and therefore to none of the commentators of this review so far, but to those referred to by Hell in his comment #5), not to those who think this is a good album...

@HardRock: no, unfortunately I haven't seen them live yet. They're one of those bands I want to see before I kick the bucket :D
