Renaissance Ashes Are Burning
Voto:
Really a very talented singer Annie Haslam, in addition to being quite a babe back in the day. Kudos to Renaissance, an excellent discography up until '79 (I'm just missing "Prologue").

Well Mauro, I’m not the only crazy one to consider "Images And Words" among the best of the nineties, but here clearly only those who prefer the untouchable (apparently) alternative rock are appreciated. And then we would be the fanatics. DT may not be phenomena, but the Nirvana certainly aren’t either (but everyone can worship them). As for the many criticisms of DT in recent years, I won’t dare to reply; I haven’t listened to them. I stopped at "Awake" because "Scenes" already hadn’t completely convinced me, and I didn’t go further.

"To Be Over" is sublime, the most underrated song in their catalog. Excellent record, but the trilogy of '71-'72 is superior and unrepeatable.
Burzum (Uruk-Hai) Blast From The Ancient Past

@The Best. I like the first three, especially "Det Som Engang Var." I don't criticize "Filosofem" from a musical standpoint, but I find the filtered voice absolutely unbearable.

Katharsys is right about Varg Vikernes: he is an idiot as a person, but as a musician he is essential in his genre.

Hi Antonio, were you referring to "Offramp"?

ONE to the singer.

"Pat Metheny Group" is one of the finest fusion albums ever, probably never to be matched again by its creator. In the following works, "Airstream," "The Epic," "It's For You," the incredible "End Of The Game," and the first five tracks of "Still Life" are also stunning. Only the title track of "Offramp" is terrible (better are "Eighteen" and "James").
Satyricon The Shadowthrone
Voto:
The years 1993-1994 are for black metal what '72-'73 was for prog: so many masterpieces! I agree with Jawbreaker, the first minutes of "In The Mist By The Hills" are among the best ever expressed by the genre, but the whole "The Shadowthrone" is sensational, even more than its successor "Nemesis Divina" (though the historic "Mother North" and "Immortality Passion" are noteworthy). Let's not forget "Dark Medieval Times," the most successful debut album from the bands in the Norwegian scene and a great example of folk-black. If Satyr's voice makes you uncomfortable, then Dead in "Live In Leipzig" is not recommended...
