Before commenting, you should listen to the record!! Tommy Bolin is much better than other guys who are around today in the musical scene.

Extraordinary album, the Hughes-Bolin duo sparkles, and as for Tommy, I believe he was one of the greatest talents in history. It’s a shame he left us so soon... great review anyway!

Hey Silian, congrats on the truly unique review, but overall interesting in light of all the crap that goes around on this site..... I give the album a 4 only because I don't know it entirely, anyway good job and for those who aren't familiar with the band I'd say their explosive live show "Live And Dangerous," is a sonic spectacle....!!

...and I also recommend their excellent debut, ON TIME (1968)!!

So the best, muffinman, in my opinion, is the red album, also known as grand funk! It's from 1969.

I absolutely support muffinman... gixone whoever the hell you are, I don't know, but you’re acting too cocky, my dear! Your culture may be great, but don’t go around bragging about it; there are people here who could swallow you for breakfast when it comes to musical culture!!

@ chicken noose: Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk were at least in America the two top bands from '70 to '74 and the Zeppelins continued even beyond! Even though today nobody gives a shit about them, in 1971 a Billboard survey crowned them Best Group of the Year with the corresponding Best Concert of the Year (SHEA STADIUM, 1971)!
