Elio E Le Storie Tese Gattini
Voto:
I really like the Elii, but for this collection they could have dared more. The arrangements are almost identical to the originals. In my opinion, they could have experimented a bit more with an orchestra. The best track is the version of Shpalman with just piano and voice, sung and commented on by Max Pezzali. The review isn't bad, but the Italian is a bit of an opinion (with the apostrophe).
Samuele Bersani Manifesto Abusivo
Voto:
I've been listening to Bersani since his first album. I must say that up until "Caramella Smog" he had evolved, but with "L'aldiquà" he began to standardize his writing style. Which, mind you, is still a good way of writing, though certainly nothing compared to Vasco, Antonacci, Zucchero, and the like. What is missing in these last two works is the desire to try new things, as he used to do in his earlier albums. The wonder, a bit naive, is absent; there's no more playing with music and words. The style remains, but it feels more like a craft. Let's hope this is just a temporary phase.
Sting If On A Winter's Night...

please inform yourself and your sister. Usually, when it’s said to be downloadable, it means the album has been released. Otherwise, it specifies "from eMule or Torrent". And thankfully your sister gave it to me for free, otherwise I would have wasted 20 euros!
Sting If On A Winter's Night...
Voto:
I haven't listened to the CD yet - in fact, it's not available for download yet - but I disagree with the reviewer about the criticisms regarding the previous album. The CD dedicated to John Dowland is very beautiful. I believe it's positive for an artist to renew themselves rather than repeat the same things. The Police are a thing of the past. Why should Sting continue to make music that no longer interests him? People change, and frankly, I prefer someone who challenges themselves and takes risks rather than someone who just keeps doing the same things without believing in them anymore, like most artists, alas even Italian ones (think Vasco, Ligabue, Pausini, Zucchero...). PS. The link to the review does not lead to the single but to a special feature on the album.
Elton John Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy
Voto:
Really very nice, even though it’s not the best pop album I’ve ever listened to (that title goes to SMiLE). The review doesn’t mention, I think, that the album is basically the story of Elton John himself (Captain Fantastic) and his lyricist Bernie Taupin (the brown dirt cowboy). Really very different from the Elton John of today.
Mark Knopfler Get Lucky
Voto:
The album is the usual good record in the Knopfler style. Nothing innovative or exhilarating. A good dose of folk ballads to relax in front of the stove.
Lucio Dalla Automobili
Voto:
I must say that I am a fan of concept albums from the start. This is truly one of the most beautiful Italian concept albums in the history of music.
Muse The Resistance
Voto:
It is certainly well-sounded and arranged, but at a compositional level, it's nothing more than a smoothie of musical thefts. Only in "United States of Eurasia" did I find (in the order of appearance): Tchaikovsky, Queen, a theme from Indiana Jones, and a pointless ending that almost entirely rehashes a nocturne by Chopin. Instead of showing off virtuosity, it would be better to come up with some vaguely original ideas.
Samuele Bersani L'Aldiqua
Voto:
It's not one of Bersani's best albums. His way of making music has become a bit too standardized compared to his other records. The arrangements are somewhat repetitive. For example, "Lascia Stare" and "Sicuro Precariato" sound a lot like some old songs. "Lo Scrutatore non Votante" is a bit cliché. Bersani should start to play and experiment like he used to.
Samuele Bersani L'Oroscopo Speciale
Voto:
In my opinion, it’s the best album by BErsani alongside "Caramella Smog." With the latest "L'Aldiquà," he has become a bit simplistic and has started to repeat himself a little. Let’s hope for the best with the next one.
