Cynic Traced In Air
Voto:
INCREDIBLE MISTAKE ON MY PART! I commented on an album that I actually hadn't listened to, and now I am correcting my comment (23), fully aware that no one cares, but the love for precision... A friend handed me a CD, "It's the latest from Cynic," he says. I trusted him and commented, unfortunately with disappointment. The album wasn’t by Cynic but by Exivious, a band featuring the guitarist and bassist from Cynic, or better, from their last live lineup (to be clear: if someone was at Gods, I’m talking about the long-haired guy and the bald one). Exivious's album is good, mind you, still technical death, only instrumental, pleasant, sure, but nothing more. An exercise in style, if you will. Fortunately, before enjoying them at Gods, I listened to the REAL “Traced In Air”: FANTASTIC. A great comeback. “Focus” remains legendary, but this is a great work. CYNIC!!!

I express my strong solidarity. Friends disappear, and the further we go, the worse it gets. Thank goodness the records remain.

Depeche Mode Live @ Stadio Olimpico (Roma) 16.06.09

For me, it would have been the third DM concert, but I chose to pass after experiencing, in the previous two occasions, the huge difference between hearing them in an arena (Forum di Assago) and in a stadium (the Olimpico). Unlike many, I don't mind the new material and I would have loved to hear the acoustic version of Waiting for the Night. One last thing: I didn’t know about Mr. Gahan's latest misadventure. Go for it, Dave! You’re amazing and live, you’re one of the few who knows how to get people wild, dancing, and having fun. Come on, you still have to delight me for a long time! Keep yourself alive!
