Finally, a review of Windir on Debaser! Just for that, you get a 5, even though I think the album deserves a perfect score. Honor to Valfar and to this extraordinary band.

No, I retract. "Truzzo" is too strong. Let's say not very nice.

ah ah... G'N'R better than Motley? But do you actually listen to the albums? Too Fast For Love, Shout At The Devil, and Dr. Feelgood are unmatched in their genre. If we take the members one by one, the comparison is ruthless; just listen to a live performance from the golden era of both bands and compare them. Live, is Axl Rose better than Vince Neil? Is Steven Adler better than Tommy Lee? And above all, is Slash better than Mick Mars? If you want to chase after MTV, go ahead, but if you want to use your hearing (and I recommend that you do), then it’s a different conversation.

Ah ah, sorry for the terrible opening: of course it's "I listened to him."

I listened to it as soon as it came out. Sparkling but not very impactful, a peppy album. You can say a lot about Justin Hawkins, and people might like him or not. I’ll just say that in the past, his singing—made up of high notes and falsetto—raised some suspicions for me. "Will he sing like this live too? Or is it yet another studio trick?” If there’s one thing I hate about the many supposed stars that are part of today’s music scene, especially in easy listening rock, it’s the abyss between the polished studio performances and the live shows. Well, I heard this gentleman sing a few years ago. Perfect live as well, and considering the difficulty of his singing style, that’s no small feat. Credit should be given where it’s due.

04/09/2005: We are in the middle of the cover of "Another Brick In The Wall," and here comes the guitarist of Korn, all decked out and looking meticulously styled, bold and stiff, confidently making his way onto the stage, advancing, positioning himself center stage with legs apart, brandishing his pick, and... executes one of the most ridiculous solos I can remember. A few-day-old kitten kicked would have produced more sensible sounds. Total emptiness. Ridiculous!!! Korn, all looks, preparation, lights, torches, sci-fi microphone stands, vocal effects, guitars—whatever you can think of... all in service of nothing. A shitty concert. Thank goodness the ticket was free; otherwise, it would have been about time to set the whole circus on fire! I remember that the best part of the evening was the usual anti-Coca-Cola protesters who stubbornly tried to display a banner of protest, and that says a lot about the quality of the music played at that concert.
