Elvis Presley From Elvis In Memphis
Voto:
Elvis Presley is a victim of the stupid prejudice that has affected many global stars, which can be summarized this way: if an artist is known by everyone artistically, they aren't worth a dime. Sometimes this is true, there's no denying it. Many have enjoyed and continue to enjoy worldwide fame without having real merit, but let me say, this is certainly not the case for the King from Tupelo. Elvis scored many dramatic own goals in his life, almost self-sabotaging with a nearly manic care (the terrible movies, relying on a foolish manager who never took him on tour outside the States, choosing to bury himself artistically in Las Vegas...) but the criticisms that have rained down on him over the years are unfair. Presley deserves to be listened to more before being stoned. Many of his works are FUNDAMENTAL (the Sun Sessions above all), the first part of his career is unmissable, and countless are the forgotten gems, like the album reviewed here, which is MA-GNI-FI-CO! This guy was a talented artist and a stratospheric interpreter, among the greatest. I often repeat this, and this is also the case: the more you listen, the fewer mental gymnastics you’ll have.

I read recently that Pulp have reformed and already scheduled some concerts at several festivals in 2011. I really hope they come for a stroll here on the peninsula. I would love to see them live. Do you know anything about it? Is there any possibility? Any rumors?

Sometimes comments really make you throw up your hands… Here the possible options are only 2: either you’re biased or you have hearing problems. Stratospheric record with an amazing rhythm section.

If this album had been an EP containing only the title track, "Call to arms," "Swords in the wind," and "Fight for freedom," I would have given it a solid 5. However, as an album, it falls slightly below average because it is filled to the brim with fillers. The covers are ridiculous, and the tracks created with the little keyboards are a joke. Rating: 3-.

Italy has historically been a predominantly Christian country, but it is also, just as historically, a country with ancient atheist and Jewish minorities. The Roman ghetto is one of the oldest in Europe.

If I may add one thing, it has always made me laugh how a certain right continuously refers to episodes of gratuitous violence suffered by the now-fallen regime during the Resistance. If you "educate" the people with twenty years of police brutality, what do you expect afterward? A handshake?

You don't support fascism, but you support the fight against communism; it's still a matter of supporting, even if it's support against. The crimes you mention have stained both sides. Of course, I am disgusted by such crimes and I look at them with equal disdain, regardless of who committed them. Regarding the partisans, who also committed atrocities, I have a more benevolent view: I approve of their struggle but absolutely do not approve of the gratuitous atrocities that also occurred; however, I find them more humanly understandable. After twenty years of harsh persecution and dictatorship, it's very easy to lose one's head at the moment of revolt. Such episodes have taken place at the fall of any regime, regardless of its color, and it appears to be a human reaction, as "inhuman" as it may be, and more than just political.

Furthermore, if we want to address it purely from a statistical standpoint (a total nonsense), it would be interesting to compare the deaths caused by the ITALIAN right with those of the ITALIAN left. But playing these games is pointless, especially if in the third millennium we are still caught up in the fascism/communism game, reducing it to nothing more than stadium fan rivalry.
