x Fiquata: times have probably changed a bit everywhere, and in Naples, this is perhaps felt more acutely. This is because it has always been, rightfully so, considered the city of passions, of the joy of living, of art, of compassion, of understanding, of knowing how to make do, of altruism, and the more adjectives you can find, the better. So, I see certain 'criticisms' as a way to emphasize the loss of certain values that, in Naples, is even sadder than in other places. Let's not forget that Troisi was already amazed over twenty years ago that the world wanted to change Naples, but it would have been better off changing Rovigo.

Stoney, don't worry, because sooner or later everyone understands certain things. When I was 14, friends and acquaintances criticized me for listening to the same music that they now appreciate at 25. In the meantime, besides these passions, I've held on to those listens that they used to brag about and that now they no longer do (see DT). Ps: The parallel you drew with politics is spot on.

Stoney is certainly right about that. It doesn't make much sense to believe that marketing only exists in pop or dance music. Even rock albums are packaged in a way that appeals to the masses. Whoever buys a DT record wants to hear music created in a certain way, and they deliver that. By this, I don’t mean to imply that there isn’t soul or personality in their music, but it’s important to remember that every artist (I believe) especially during the arrangement phase, tries to build something that reflects certain standards of that genre. Certain standards that people expect.

JURIX, you're probably right. I’m the first to prefer the Black Sabbath of the eighties and nineties compared to the earlier ones, but the fact remains that certain songs could only have been done the way Ozzy did them.
