M.C. Escher Mani Che Disegnano
Voto:
Escher is one of those artists I discovered on my own, without school, without anyone telling me to study him. Maybe that's why I like him so much. There isn't a single drawing, lithograph, or sketch of his that I don't find brilliant. MY favorite artist. The review is good, but for me, it lacks a bit of a beginning and an end and some key information to introduce the artist to those who don't know a damn thing about Escher, but you can still feel the passion. There's always time to improve.

But I’m not angry! :D I just explained how it went; you’re free to appreciate the Massimo Volume's singing more, of course. It's true, "Demo Nero" is very interesting, with Palazzo also on vocals. In those four tracks, the MV still need to define their style a bit (the alternation between very calm and unsettling moments and others that are much more intense musically), but all the seeds of "Stanze" are already there (for example, "La processione della madonna dei porci," which will later be reduced to just the first two lines on "Stanze"). In any case, try listening to "Club Privè"; you might find it more to your liking (after all, it’s what you want: spoken tracks and sung tracks). I find something good in that album, but I still see it as their only misstep. Maybe it won’t be like that for you... :)

Oh no, here I feel personally touched, so I’ll respond right away. I understand that you enjoy hearing singing, but singing is the one thing you shouldn’t look for in a Massimo Volume album. The origin of the spoken word comes from the fact that none of the four original members (so Umberto Palazzo on guitar, in place of Egle Sommacal, but the same goes for Sommacal) could actually sing. Clementi, who was already writing lyrics and playing bass (an instrument that also allowed him to do other things), proposed spoken word to the band. Things started to go well immediately, so much so that this absence became the band's most distinctive feature. If you want to hear Clementi sing, you need to check out "Club Privè," where you’ll hear a nice change of direction and also find some sung tracks, but with frankly dismal results. In short, the real Massimo Volume are the ones from the first three albums; you must like them to truly appreciate Massimo Volume :)
