@mike76: it was meant as a half-serious statement... I'm not an anti-McDonald's fanatic, but generally if I can, I avoid going there; however, trust me, after a week of just rice and vegetables (meat prices are outrageous) you start to reassess even the Mc! =) Plus, it’s the only place in Japan where they serve you a decent coffee for one euro, in cafes they charge you eight and up, and for a caffeine addict like me, that's a real problem!

Then we have "Come stai," a pretty dark rock song that talks about stubborn nonconformism and the unwillingness to ever settle down, despite everyone else having done so a long time ago, because the nonconformist "stands out from the commonplace."
For me, flaunting one's nonconformism for free by shoving it in everyone's face is one of the most conformist things you can do. He annoys me, so I wouldn’t be objective in voting; therefore, I abstain.

@gustavotanz: feel free to skip it; rather, if you don’t have anything of theirs, get something from the (also mentioned in the review) down!

@vortex: well, for once I can say that, more or less, the clichés were true: extremely polite people (always smiling and bowing), exhausting work hours (there were people coming home from work past midnight), a great sense of civic duty (the streets were so clean, and I'm talking about Tokyo, a metropolis, that you could eat off them; but of course in more touristy areas there was much more dirt; during rush hour in the subway everyone lined up neatly, and no one pushed or tried to cut in, etc.), a mix of new and tradition. Japanese women, on the other hand, have an impressively high average level of beauty! And their little voices are adorable! The only thing that didn't match up is the idea that they are introverted; on the contrary! Just break the ice for a moment and it feels like you've known each other for a lifetime. They are also decent drinkers. In general, the Japanese are a bit like big nerdy kids; at the newsstand, there are more manga than newspapers, and they really love gadgets and various knick-knacks, but I mean that in a good way. The food is a bit monotonous, especially for me since I don't eat fish, but thank goodness there are plenty of McDonald's around in case of emergency.
AA.VV. Gods Of Metal 2009

I don't know, but I can tell you that last year the second day had an incredible lineup, and not even half the people who came the day before showed up, 90% of whom were probably there just for Iron Maiden. Anyway, this year the second day wasn’t bad either, considering that famous bands also ask for 35 euros or more per ticket, so it makes sense. The best festival for me this year was definitely Download.

Anyway, from what I've read around, the people who went were more than satisfied, even with many of the smaller bands like Epica, Tarja, Lita Ford, etc.
