LA RECENSIONE

"Sunny review for some psychedelic good stuff from Not Not Fun Records part 3/3"

Chapter 3: Pocahaunted - Chains (2008)

Pocahaunted are the ladies of Not Not Fun Records, Amanda Brown and Bethany Cosentino, two splendid artists also wrapped in a strong hippie spirit.

"Chains" is pure trance, chants or rather sweet delusions, laments, pleasant sounds emitted in the recording room but with their minds immersed in some distant extasensorial paradise from a voice distantly related to that of Grace Slick on instrumental bases halfway between Bardo Pond and Valet, trip music without prolonging, hoping to recreate journeys not only in space but also in time, going back about 40 years. A commendable intent, surely appreciated by everyone who, like me, regrets being born too late missing out on years that, by all accounts, were quite good.

Even 2008 was certainly a good year at least for Not Not Fun Records, which has the credit for circulating these happy oases that I strongly recommend.

Let yourself go, surrender yourself to the psychedelia that will know how to cradle you and make you feel at ease to complete a journey that will ultimately lead to feeling better.

Peace Brothers & Sisters.
