I generally liked the old man; he's always the same archetype of the "madman," but it works with me :) After all, when I watch these movies, it's like going to my favorite trattoria; you know exactly what to expect. It's definitely not gourmet cuisine, but damn, I like it!

To me, this has always seemed the weak side of the quadrilateral, naturally above many (countless!) things, but if I would give the others a 4.5/5, I would give this a 3.5. I know that many even consider it their favorite, so it must be my problem :)

It's always a dirty job to talk about classical on Debaser, so I’d say it deserves recognition! :) When I finish with the "essential" modern bands (which I assume will take at least a few more years), I'll seriously dedicate myself to classical; for now, I limit myself to some fleeting listens, although the quality is undeniably there.

Machete is awesome, by the way I had high expectations going in but it didn’t disappoint me at all! There are at least a couple of scenes that are cult classics, but I don’t want to give anything away. Now I hope they make a movie of this too:

it's exactly that... in fact, I saw that it has quite divided the audience, I liked it :) anyway, I think the film didn't want to take itself too seriously, come on, how can you not get excited when the guys start beating up zombies by punching them in the face and headbutting them?! and then the ending is at least decent, beautifully cynical and bastardly

Anyway, the coolest rockers are Blasco and Liga! The others are just trash, make noise, and can’t play!

John is the owner of a small grocery store and has lived a completely anonymous life; one day while cleaning the store, he hears a voice: "John, sell your store." John is a bit perplexed but decides to pretend he didn't hear it. The next day, while restocking the shelves, he hears the voice again: "John, sell the store," but John continues to ignore it. The scene repeats several times until one day, exasperated, John decides to sell the store. Then the voice speaks again, "Great, John, now go to Las Vegas." - "But look, Las Vegas is far away and I don't like taking planes..." - "John, now go to Las Vegas." So he decides to go to Las Vegas. "Excellent, John, now go play Black Jack at the casino and bet all your money." - "But that doesn't seem like a good idea," John replies, "gambling is very..." - "John, go play Black Jack." He heads to the table and bets all his money; the first card drawn is a King. "Draw another card, John." He draws another card, and it's an eight. "John, draw another card." - "No, look, the risk is too high, I wouldn't want to..." - "Draw another card, John." John draws another card, and it's an Ace. "Draw another card, John." - "No, come on, that's enough, really..." - "DRAW ANOTHER CARD, JOHN!"; another Ace. "John, draw one more card." - John, now dripping with sweat, objects: "But I'm at twenty already, it doesn't make sense to draw another!" - "John, draw another card!" At this point, near exhaustion, John draws another card, another Ace again. At this point, he hears the voice: "F*CK, THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!"

Well, of course there are exceptions, but keep in mind that Mr. Romero has already given a lot to the cause; it's only logical that a single person can't keep producing high-level works forever! :) Anyway, in recent films of the genre, there has indeed been an attempt to breathe some new life into it by incorporating more or less heavy doses of irony (as is the case with la horde), which I still prefer to be distributed in small doses throughout the film rather than exaggerated like in Zombieland, which is, despite everything, a nice film.

@bartle: it's quite recent, I think it came out last year... anyway, it's incredible how zombie movies, despite being basically the same, never disappoint! :)

I love zombie movies, such a passion of mine! Although, to be honest, this one, nice as it is, didn't really excite me. From the director, I'd much prefer Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World; I think they're much more fun :) Instead, today I watched "La Horde," still in the zombie theme, and I have to say I liked it; it's beautifully over-the-top and cynical, and the fights with the zombies are just so outrageous (in a good way!)
