If the book ends like the movie, I would say that it's not too pessimistic but leaves room for some hope. Anyway, I remember that one of the scenes that touched me the most is when they manage to find that kind of bunker full of canned food; I really felt relieved for them! ^^

lbartle: Eragon, I only saw the first movie and it was enough for me to give up because it seemed just like the usual over-stereotyped thing, and on top of that, it seemed written for babies, so I totally understand why you didn't like it. From what Rage says in the comment above, though, it might be that they have come out in Italian now, and if that's the case, I suggest you take a look, at least in the bookstore, if it inspires you, since as I've already mentioned, it has little to do with traditional fantasy; it's made specifically for those like us who can't take any more of the Eragon-type stuff :)

Not bad, but even though it's more varied compared to its predecessor, I still prefer part I; it must have been the novelty effect...

In the meantime, I vote for the cover, which is SPECTACULAR.

They seem interesting, since I finally managed to understand Alcest; in the near future, I could give them a listen here as well.

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external content. However, if you provide the text you'd like me to translate, I would be happy to help.

rece ok, the group I've never heard of... anyway, from what I understand you like melodic/symphonic metal, if you don't know them, I recommend giving a listen to The Gathering, who have gothic/melodic sounds but play, in my opinion, in a higher league than other similar bands (as well as many hard bands in general); the best is usually considered to be Mandylon.

If you've only heard the first ones, at least give a listen to Dimension Hatross and Nothingface, which are two masterpieces!

Anyway, the '90s are the most interesting for me right after the '70s :)
