For now, my favorite is this one (also because it's the one that sparked the flame); but right after that, for me, come The Dreaming and Never for Ever. Hounds, I don't know, I'll listen to it again sooner or later since practically everyone talks about it positively, but I like it a lot less compared to these.

I liked them! However, I was really moooooooooolto nerd, given that I also went through the D&D and vampires phase :D But your bartle is a bit of a stereotype; around my area, most were just normal guys hanging out together :) Oh, and I also think that the idea that today's kids are less intelligent is another cliché of the "things were better back then" variety, since some studies actually seem to show the opposite and that the web/PC generation is more savvy, dynamic, etc.

Well, after 10,000 days which partially disappointed me (at least compared to the previous albums where they were always evolving, while in this latest one I noticed a slight stagnation, although still with high-level results), I'm waiting to see what they'll do next. I hope they prove my concerns wrong by delivering another masterpiece (or almost) and that they haven't already entered the declining phase of their career. Anyway, my curiosity is high, and deep down, I'm optimistic.

@extro91: oh my god, I don't know, Germany and especially the Scandinavian countries are the benchmark for social democracy, and I would say that life isn't too bad over there... (except for the weather, which is crap)

I also think the cover looks strange, also because it seems more like a prog band than hard...

Also because on a practical level, I have seen that all the countries where communism has taken hold have ended up in dictatorships, and they certainly haven't become great places to live. Sure, one can object that those governments are only communist in name, but it is precisely this fanaticism behind the ideologies that makes everything possible (just as the Church doesn’t have much that is Christian at its core, it has been the blind adherence to ideology that has led to abominations like the Crusades, etc.).

Well, it’s clear that you believe strongly in what you say, and for that, maximum respect. That said, communism, like all ideologies by the way, has never really appealed to me; I’m too individualistic :)

In Germany, they really pump these up, but I’m not crazy about these nostalgia operations; updated influences are fine, and maybe even enhanced with some novelties, but otherwise I'll just listen to the originals and that’s it. Then again, in Germany they are mega traditionalists and they even pump up yet another useless album by Iron or AC/DC to masterpiece status; therefore...

I actually agree that provoking is very easy; the hard part is doing it in a constructive way (which unfortunately almost no one does) or at least intelligently/ironically.
