The cover had intrigued me, and it seems I made the right choice to read it :)

My gaming career unfortunately ended quite some time ago, but I remember that the first Deus Ex was truly a masterpiece in its genre; along with Half-Life, the best shooter (although calling it that feels reductive) I've ever played. It was definitely one of the most revolutionary games.

Well, I hope that if the break is temporary, it was nice to read someone who was always calm and polite, on this site it's a rare trait ;)

never heard of it... but I think that current television series often have a depth that even surpasses that of cinema (considering the possibility of developing the plot over much more time). I don’t know, watch stuff like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and tell me if anything equally valid has come out in the past (at least in the same format).

Well, of course, there are no shortage of human cases in any field, goodness :) I must just be lucky to have only met "normal" people. Then again, it's always better to have the nerdy-unstable types who are still playing Magic at 30 than those who go around chopping up people and keeping their heads in the fridge, right? ^^

I don't really understand the mentality of the article; it almost seems like the band HAS to release an album just to avoid keeping the fans waiting. I’d rather have a record every 5 years or more that I genuinely enjoy, rather than one that's crap every 1-2 years, or with half of the good tracks and the rest fillers. The market is already saturated with useless releases... and if I get bored in the meantime, I have just 50 years of music (limiting myself to rock) to sift through, so I’m sure I’ll find something ^^

Well, the article also describes the 4 albums of the Arctic Monkeys as excellent and says that in today's iTunes world, no one listens to long pieces like those of King Crimson anymore... let’s drop it :/

Anyway, I agree with hell that the super pumped decks that can wipe you out in one or two turns were crap; what’s the point of playing at that point? At least my friends and I had weak decks and we would take at least twenty minutes to kill each other.

I used to play it at school, in fact (and with the cards I borrowed from duplicates of classmates and collector friends; of course, this way I almost always lost, but at least I played for free).

In the past, adventure was my favorite genre (especially Salgari); now, if I want to indulge a bit more, I prefer "intelligent" science fiction like Dick. Thrillers and adventures tend to resemble each other after a while (for example, after Dan Brown, I don't know how many books themed "the dirty secrets of the Vatican" I've found in bookstores), and especially many authors take themselves too seriously for my tastes. Aside from Tom Clancy, whom I read occasionally and like fairly well. Why do you want to stop writing? :)
