amazing shooter, with a great atmosphere and, as you rightly say, essential for the genre... even the sequel, with the gravity gun (and along with the spin-off portal) will bring a second revolution (perhaps even more important?), making extremely realistic and significant use of physics in a video game for the first time. I just pulled it out a little while ago, just yesterday I was teleported to xen ;)

But do they sing in Italian or English? Anyway, I had already heard their name, although I wouldn't know about the most important and influential; from that point of view, aren't CCCP, Diaframma, and Litfiba more well-known?

Without wanting to waste too many words on the beautiful (or should I say, stunning!) cover, Prince is nice, but after a while, he gets a bit tiresome, a tad overrated (even though it's probably the opposite that's true around here :P) imho... My favorite, in any case, is "Sign O' The Times."

Still around?! I actually liked them, like a decade ago; they were one of my first "edgier" listens (or at least they seemed that way back then ;D)

nice group, Hotel California is a beautiful piece, but I've heard it so many times now that it's a bit worn out... in any case, if only we had more radio music of this level!
AA.VV. Electronic Evocation: A Tribute To Silver Apples

The original is a shocking album, especially when placed in its historical context...
