Actually, jazz/blues/roots has nothing to do with it, I just read jazz and accidentally clicked on that too... as for mbd, Anathema and Paradise Lost are still considered doom/death, and although progressive, Opeth basically belongs to that genre. @ale9to and co: I know some albums I've done have already been reviewed, but if I end up duplicating, I think the others aren't complete... one was too emphasized and the other too lacking in details. Here, I tried to describe this wonderful album with its pros and cons, to which I can only give a 5!

I accept all criticisms and hope to improve in the upcoming reviews. I haven't talked much about the album itself, because there were already other reviews on Deb that spoke very well of it, and for this reason, I didn't think it was essential to focus exclusively on the album.
I wrote this review simply because it kept me company during this period and opened my eyes to different fronts, and I hoped that these things could resonate in your spirits as well. The rating for the album, however, was indeed an oversight; it should have been 5!

Jurix, apart from the fact that your jokes don't make anyone laugh, I don't know if you've realized that... also, 3 albums in 15 years? Well, Metallica have made 3 in 11 so... punk style in the sense that they have some punk rock influences, a sound similar to the punk-rock vibes of the '80s...

Moreover, Slash isn't the genius everyone claims he is... Slash is not a composer but a performer, so what he does can easily be replaced by someone else, and I don't think Ron Thal or Robin Finck (former NIN)... besides on keyboards there's Chris Pittman, who I consider a genius. It's true that Axl is the mastermind behind this new project, but he didn't do everything alone, quite the opposite. And he didn't take 15 years just to make Chinese Democracy; he said that by 2012 two more albums will be released. So he did well to wait a bit, and the result is fantastic. I’ll finish by saying that I’ve never been a gunner; in fact, I don't really like Guns N' Roses, but I truly respect Axl Rose for having the courage to continue despite those clowns leaving him. The album has a slightly different style from the previous ones, more industrial and perhaps more spontaneous and straightforward. But it’s still a great work!

But at least have you listened to the album? Instead of continuing to say that the new Guns suck, maybe put it in the player and take a look... Great album! Just because it took 15 years to make doesn't mean it should be evaluated negatively. In the meantime, Axl did very well because he needed to do something right, and he even managed to make it amazing like this new Chinese Democracy.
Slash, Duff, and Matt aren't around anymore?? Oh poor things... I don't think Ron Thal, Chris Pittman, and Robin Finck are any less since they also have a glorious past and can now achieve great fame thanks to the Guns project. In fact, to be honest, I might even like the new guys more than the old Guns.
Axl was right to fire those junkies of his bandmates and kick them to the curb since they didn't even thank him for what he did for them.
Then I don't get what your adoration for Slash is about; he's just an ordinary guitarist like many others, nothing special.
