I read it twice and found it much more engaging than 99% of the novels out there. Perhaps it’s not written (translated?) very well. Nice review.

I don't know, I like them. It's the lightest music I listen to. We need that too.

By the way, if I think that the Velvet Underground had to produce their second album alone under terrible conditions, I become more and more convinced that the world is just a ball of dung rolling in orbit.

Here comes the review of the work of my (ex) neighbor! What an immeasurable genius! Even his brother can’t stand him anymore.

Cinema and literature are two different and incomparable languages. Have you ever heard someone after seeing "Judith and Holofernes" by Caravaggio say: yes, but the biblical episode was more beautiful? Why do we insist on considering cinema a literary technique when it has nothing to do with it? As for the comparison with "Christiane F.", that film (Uli Edel) is the quintessence of the most useless, superficial, and moralistic didacticism one can imagine, like all the films of that director (see Last Stop in Brooklyn). If man has been using drugs for millennia, there must be a reason; you can't reduce the problem to a parochial sermon.
