Skassa, what do you have against the ridiculous march of One For The Vine?

And then they say: "enough reviews on Genesis" - it seems to me that it's one of the most commented on the homepage right now.

Well, there's not much difference between 90125 and Genesis. If we compare the two hits, then Mama is on another level, much more compelling, and the 2 Home By The Sea are better than any track on this album.

@mj64: you are free to think as you like and I respect your opinions. After all, I also love Peter Gabriel and all his solo albums, from Car to Up, but I can't help but consider those 2 albums on the same level as the previous ones. Well, this is my personal opinion, you know.

And the good Steve decided to leave the group at what I think was the most appropriate moment.

Yes Raimondo, but in this album the prog component is still very high; in the next album, the pop influences will become more evident. And anyway, I don't think that Hackett staying could have changed the inevitable.

Yes, the final part of Entangled is a masterpiece!

The first album by Genesis that I listened to and thus holds a strong emotional value for me. Aside from that, I can't help but give it a 5 (as I would for all their work since Foxtrot, although for me The Lamb is a 4.5). Your assessment of the tracks is identical to what I would have done, except perhaps for Wot Gorilla? which deserves a bit more. Even without Peter, they managed to produce 2 masterpieces before Steve's departure, and honestly, I'm a bit tired of the narrative that without him, Genesis were no longer up to par.

Ahah never started. You see, when you watch an album or a movie as a kid and get hooked, it's hard to say years later that it sucks. At least, that's how it is for me.

I heard it for the first time when I was a kid (7-8 years old) and I must say that at that age it was truly evocative! Tracks like In The Woods Of Kroandal and The Birds Of Tilmun almost scared me on my first listens. It's an album that is part of the soundtrack of my earliest childhood and even today, when I listen to it, it makes me rediscover those feelings that take the mind wandering into fantastic worlds. Congratulations on the review, very personal.
