"Red marked the end of the game for pretty much all bands." Well, that's your opinion; I don't agree. Do you remember the great prog albums by Rush from '76 to '81? (just to give an example). Far from finished!

If I understand what King Crimson means to you, then they had finished making that kind of music already after the second album (where, by the way, there are already some experiments by Fripp). Larks' Tongues In Aspic and Red are already different works.

Don't worry Terry, they never make fun of girls (well, ALMOST never)...

Paloz, what are you talking about? The Lamb is not the death of Genesis, and King Crimson in the '80s produced at least three interesting works (even if they are not exactly accessible to everyone). A definite break from '74, huh?

@DarkHaem: No doubt, no doubt this... ahah. Damn, today on DeBaser there are excellent reviews pouring in! Uhm, I should have something by Jefferson Airplane, but I haven't listened to anything yet. In the meantime, I'm trying to find this...

Great review, an extra point for including the samples, which are definitely interesting (though I agree with Icnarf/Franci regarding the organetto). But Otupacca, what kind of surname is that?
