Better than Sonic Nurse, but the sacred fire has now gone out here. Nonetheless, between a delightful pop song ("Reena") and some Velvet minimalism ("Or"), this album manages to pass muster. They were right to break up anyway; whether it was a divorce or not, they had reached the end of the line after a wonderful career during which there were never any real missteps until the beautiful Murray Street... In their later years, the best things came out in the solo works of Thurston and Lee...

The album is a masterpiece. From Aftermath to Exile, the Stones are like a pig, nothing gets thrown away. I also like the over-criticized "Their Satanic Majesties...." No bullshit.
