Il Genio Vivere Negli Anni X

Thank you very much for the comments, which are very flattering. I honestly really like the album; it's quite enjoyable to listen to. I gave it 3 stars because it's a good album without any disgrace and plenty of praise, but I probably should have given it 4 since it's above average for commercial pop... but in fact, this is not commercial pop. @The Punisher: um, perhaps you didn't read the review carefully, there was no "novelty effect (of the first album)," on the contrary, the first album was actually a copy/paste of stuff we had already heard (a high-quality copy/paste, I mean) unlike this one. Clearly, I didn’t manage to explain myself clearly enough.

How nice, a review of Aronofsky published on March 14, that is, 3/14, which means pi day! Okay, forgive me. About the movie: of course, it's neither the first nor the last film on the theme of the double, probably not even the best; I don’t know if it’s due to some astrological alignment or what, but I enjoyed it infinitely, I see an excellent level of quality. Moreover, Tchaikovsky kills me every time I hear him, he has a particularly strong grip on me, so I acknowledge that the choice to set the film in that specific context and about that specific composer has greatly influenced my judgment; it is also true that one cannot say “well, with a masterpiece like this to lean on, anyone can do well,” the film is still clearly the result of considerable work. @nes: I understand your love for Aronofsky's first film, that movie is a total cult and deserves it; however, I think the artistic level here is high; I really don’t see a drop à la Shyamalan, at most the artistic journey of this director is taking an unexpected turn. ;)

Beautiful review, congratulations. And it's a beautiful film, but I certainly don't need to tell you that.

Welcome to DeBaser as an author and no longer just as a lurker! :D Congratulations on your first review: I usually don't find track-by-track very pleasant either, but considering the almost concept-like structure of the album and the fact that you didn't just write a quick judgment on each song, but described them well, it's perfectly suitable here. I won't vote for the album because, unfortunately, I haven't heard it yet (I only saw the video for "Goodbye Malinconia," a beautiful song), but since I'm one of those who believe that CapaRezza is improving with each album, I have no trouble believing that this "Il sogno eretico" is better than "Le dimensioni del mio caos," which I already loved.

Oh dear, LauraVan, you shouldn't do that! ;) The rating is personal: I would have voted 4, but then I gave it a 5 because it’s the first review. Everyone votes as they wish!

@The Decline: Allen did more; he said that Lionello made him a better actor than he was, and he was right. Another remarkable case was the incredible Lydia Simoneschi, so talented and versatile that she could shift from the fresh young girl Scarlett O'Hara to the heavy old hag Maga Magò. The best part is that the tradition of voice actors (who imho are something more than just actors) has been preserved to this day with young talents like Flavio Aquilone and Perla Liberatori.

Welcome to DeBaser and congratulations on your first review! Little to say about the film: it’s simply a masterpiece, I love it infinitely. @TheDecline: it’s true that the original language tells another story, but I can’t help but notice that the Italian dubbing is always of excellent quality (not rarely even better than the original, as admitted by actors and directors themselves), and in this film, we have a great example with Federica De Bortoli (Nina) who gives us an extraordinary performance.

Beautiful and shareable review, and a wonderful film that I loved very much and always watch with great pleasure. It’s entertainment, yes, but of the highest level: with this screenplay, Benigni and Cerami have truly achieved an excellent standard. Since "La vita è bella," there has been neither a decline nor a rise, but simply another period.

Excellent review, masterpiece film. I know DeBaser prefers not to have duplicates, but I feel the need to write about "Black Swan" as well; it is an absolutely wonderful work that deeply moved me.

Maybe not 5 stars, but definitely four and a half: a film of the highest quality, stunning, nothing happens for over an hour yet there isn't a single minute of boredom, pause, or drop in tension. Excellent actors, great direction, good content told through an excellent form. It will set a standard.
