@Bartleboom: Brad Bird has directed three films so far, all animated, and is working on a fourth film in live action. "The Iron Giant" is traditional animation, and I'll just say that I cried: watch it, do yourself a favor; "The Incredibles" I liked very much because it's a beautifully made film, but it didn't grab my heart like the first or the third "Ratatouille," which is of infinite beauty for its characters, ideas, plot, music, themes, screenplay, graphics, technical execution, everything.

I basically quote the entire review: a very talented musician who has made a name for himself in Cibo Matto; in his solo works, he doesn’t say anything new, but he does it with style.

Today I received a strong disappointment; I was very sad. I came here, read the review, and ended up with a face that was a bit laughing and a bit crying. And like the review, Pixar movies are just like that: a balance of fun and emotion that, in my opinion, reached its emotional and artistic peak in "Ratatouille," without a shadow of a doubt one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen in my life. "Up" does not reach the level of "Ratatouille" (Brad Bird is a genius, Pete Docter is not), but you would really have to be miserable not to recognize the immense value of this film. Pixar is the best thing that has happened to cinema in the last 20 years.

@Darius: well, "sober" is a strong word to describe the image of someone mimicking an inflatable doll. ;)

Ah, and I notice that no one has yet had the courage to put the real cover: I don't blame you.

Congratulations on the review, but enough with Lady Gaga. No, really, enough.

@nes: the cover of "Born this Way" is undoubtedly one of the UGLIEST images ever produced in the history of homo sapiens, so much so that even the fans prefer to use and consider the cover of the special edition, the one with the big face... but when the special edition is sold out, only the regular edition, of incalculable ugliness, will remain in stores around the world for the coming years. I've read comments from even the most devoted fans who, in front of the "Born this Way" cover, have timidly admitted, even they, that perhaps now and then Lady Gaga's team should have the courage to say no to her in the face of such chilling choices. I have my theory: she aims for the low. Lady Gaga aims to produce increasingly subpar music, increasingly banal lyrics, increasingly ugly looks, increasingly trite provocations, increasingly sordid attitudes: it’s an experiment she’s conducting with the entire world, like “how low can I go in ugliness, further and further down, while still receiving support from my fans? How long will they follow me?”. Geenoo is right, even Madonna provoked, but stayed within the realm of glamour; with the excuse of being a fan of metal music, Lady Gaga seems to think she can afford terrible looks and artwork, but even Iron Maiden would never have released (and have never released, in fact) such an ugly cover.

The final jab at Darius is a bit gratuitous and out of place, but for the rest, I agree 100%: she’s only on her second album and she’s already run out of ideas since she’s recycling herself (a clear sign that she’s past her prime). I hope the world wakes up soon from the collective hypnosis it has fallen into.

@squall_leonhear: it's different. Madonna has always consciously made commercial pop music, and like her, many other pop divas. Lady Gaga considers herself a messiah, a revolutionary, a great artist, someone who made it, someone who can inspire others. Maybe she overestimates herself a bit too much, don’t you think? She’s the Giovanni Allevi of America. What she has produced so far has been just terrible music: I can only save "Paparazzi" from oblivion, while the verdict for "Poker Face" is undeniable, one of the worst songs of all time. Let's listen to her songs and try to assess their actual artistic value: it’s minimal. I don’t believe Madonna ever said that "La Isla Bonita" is a masterful artwork, right? If Lady Gaga has messianic artistic ambitions, she has every right to pursue them, but she needs to show them: if you want to be a messiah, you must give me a message that is at least minimally original, concrete, and valid; if you aspire to artistic heights, you must produce quality; Lady Gaga produces mediocre stuff filled with rhetoric already exhausted by her previous and much less pretentious colleagues. "Born This Way": the anthem of acceptance for every sex, race, language (and religions, which she mocks?), but this theme has been dissected to nausea; musically, we’re faced with a generic anthem, if you take any composition manual, you’ll see it’s nothing remotely innovative. All stuff that’s been chewed up and regurgitated, supported by an image that celebrates bad taste... but why? Was there really a need for this? I didn’t sense it.
