In the '90s, I was an extreme Bluvertighian and I’m still a fan of Morgan even though my esteem for him is in free fall. An amazing album full of genius. One note, I don’t understand why everyone loves "Cieli neri" so passionately except for me, who has always found it nice, yes, but a bit boring.

@Cho Hakkai: thank you for the clarifications. There's not much to say about Bartok; I've written a very clear and (as far as I know) entirely honest statement: "the symphonies of Béla Bartók are based on real examples of Gypsy and Romani folk music personally collected by the composer." I haven't made any judgments of superiority about other composers or my own qualitative evaluations. For Prokof'ev, I needed a clear and famous example of a leitmotiv, and again, I did not express any value judgment; I simply provided ONE example, not necessarily the best or the most philologically accurate, nor was that my intention: it’s better to present a good & well-known example than a perfect & unknown one. Finally, I never stated that Arisawa is the only Japanese composer to use certain sources and orchestrations: the composers you mentioned often use arrangements with small and large orchestras, which is true; I was merely highlighting that, in my opinion, the result is particularly successful in this case. More interesting is to note that in the first half of the '90s, soundtracks that employed orchestral arrangements were much, much rarer than they are today, and from this perspective, Arisawa represents a very precise example.

I have been and still am a fan of Cibo Matto, but the solo works of Yuka and Miho, while really very good, leave me a bit colder (even though they are still very good stuff).

Good review, and just for finding Formula 1 a deadly bore, you deserve an extra star. A book I wasn't familiar with at all (of course, for me too, Levi is the Levi of post-Auschwitz narratives) and that I now absolutely want to read.

She is really, really great, but I can't get beyond the applause. I know it's a cliché, but I perceive more technique than talent in her.

It's not exactly a review and I can't quite say what it is, but in any case, it's really very beautiful nonetheless. Basic work.

@Fairy Feller: I didn't really mention "genius," in fact I rated it 3, not 5, and I compared it to Avril Lavigne to make my point, not Mozart. What I wrote is that this song is made up of non-original elements, yet well applied, or at least much better than what’s done elsewhere. As for Lady Gaga, I wouldn't even start that discussion since she's just the poor man's Madonna and I've said it all. @nes: well, it's okay if we don't have the same tastes, you can't have it all in life. In the meantime, we share a Nintendo passion, if that's not enough. ;)

@Fairy Feller: well, she's not really dark, in fact. The game lies more in mixing very different moments in the pot rather than representing oneself. Personally, I really like the result; it's very playful and there's no desire to be truly dark: there's more of a desire to have fun, that's all.

Very good review and a work that is one of the ten most beautiful things ever created in the entire history of music.

Judging by the title, this album is Justice's tribute to Professor Dervis Fontecedro.
