I agree in appreciating "Lupercalia"; for me, it’s the perfect compromise between entertainment and depth, with beautiful songs that are enjoyable to listen to and lovely lyrics that are worth reading. You don’t have to be dark and cryptic to be considered profound. I was fortunate enough to see Patrick Wolf live at the Lazzaretto in Ancona (an eccentric place in a city rarely or hardly ever visited by international artists; I suppose Wolf chose it precisely because of the uniqueness of that specific location, which indeed turned out to be extraordinarily scenic), and it was a memorable experience. P.S.: Who is Paddy, your friend?

There’s not much to say. More of an introduction to listening than a review, but that’s perfectly fine too.

"‘Bankrupt and incoherent’? What are we talking about? Architecture during the Fascist period (and NOT 'Fascist architecture', which means nothing) was one of the highest qualitative architectural expressions of the 20th century. The EUR is an open-air museum with extraordinary structures. Some phrases in architectural jargon suggest to me that the reviewer and I share the same degree, or at least the same field of study: so I wonder, if the reviewer has the eyes of an architect, how can they not see in this work and in the entire complex of EUR42 a clear intent to control space with results that are nothing short of extraordinary? The spatial qualities of certain areas of the EUR are of a quality that hadn’t been sensed since the time of Bernini, and the urban interventions in the southern part, like the little lake, are lessons in landscape design. Are you familiar with the highly praised Weißenhof? Despite its basic importance, to be brutally frank, it’s just a neighborhood of terraced houses on a hill, and it stands in relation to the EUR like a suburb with nice houses does to the Roman Forum. We can discuss what the EUR has become, whether it has aged well or not, if it gets the recognition it could/should receive, if the new buildings align with the overall vision; we can debate whatever you like, but the quality of Libera’s buildings was sixty years ahead of its time, and Fellini's love for this neighborhood is the best confirmation of the architectural merit of these spaces."

There is little to add to what those before me have said: a deeply felt and brilliantly written review of a work that makes every listener feel small and mortal in the face of the dimensions of the known universe. I completely agree with the total absence of message in Bach, a purity that in the visual arts would only be achieved in the 20th century by artists like Malevich and Klein who, while working on traditional supports, reached results of pure aseptic contemplation.

I quote other users before me regarding the freshness and honesty of this album that I often and gladly listen to, being nothing more and nothing less than fun, well-written, beautifully performed, and excellently produced. For me, it's in the top 5 of the '80s alongside "Disintegration" by the Cure and the body of work by David Sylvian. It's time to stop criticizing a band for how they dress since, if a stage is a stage, a band's stage clothes are no different from the costumes of theater actors.

I was completely unaware of it. I watched the first episode. I'm shocked. "A porno that never takes off" is exactly the feeling I had too: the situation is always set up and then it just doesn't come together. I think it's the worst thing I've ever seen; I'm already a devoted follower.

"In the meantime that the four present their works on Che tempo che fa…", but did they write the review of the show before even watching it???
