Courtois, Werth, Panné, Paczkowski, Bartosek, Margolin Il libro nero del Comunismo

One fine day, the black book of right-wing regimes will come out and then we will see who has caused more harm, and by harm I don’t refer to the number of deaths (1 or a billion is still murder, albeit of different magnitude), but to the psychological and moral violence perpetrated by politics. I do not wish to comment on the undoubtedly terrible record of numbers, because the same can be found on the opposite side by changing the names of the states between the dot and the comma. Therefore, I want to make it clear that there is no way to justify all this death, but I can’t help but think that all of this is due not to communism itself, but to its extremization (an ALWAYS negative event): let’s be objective, utopian communism, at its core, is the best of all possible worlds. What I mean is that communism (and leftist thought) is based on a correct idea, while capitalism (and right-wing thought) is based on a fundamentally wrong idea. That there were millions of deaths in Russia is undeniable and unjustifiable by anyone, but that did not result from communism: it resulted from the presence of a political regime that exaggerated and completely strayed from the initial idea; what happened in Germany during World War II, on the other hand, was the exact application of the theories pursued from the very beginning: I would say there is a significant difference. I conclude as Carlo Cimmino by quoting the 37th comment of El minchia.

While acknowledging that Bluvertigo is my favorite Italian band, I still find the reviewer’s tone and rating too enthusiastic. It's a great album that remains relevant even today, sure, but... 5 stars? I believe a solid 4 is more fitting: "Acidi e basi" is a wonderful album full of ideas that aren’t always executed perfectly, but are always excellent; over time, they will have the rare ability to keep the level of ideas high and improve on how to present them, until they reach "Zero" (now that’s a 5-star album). As for Morgan: he is the most egocentric, attention-seeking, and arrogant person in the world, but he is so cultured and (from my point of view) likable that I forgive him everything. Regarding "X Factor," I see no reason to destroy it: it is an honest talent show infinitely better than all those broadcasted in Italy so far (shall we compare it to Mario De Filippi's "Amici"?); Mara Maionchi does her job, Morgan does his, and Simona Ventura plays the ignorant one who thinks Giusy Ferreri is a great singer (and I agree with GustavoTanz in remembering Ventura as much more likable in the past). As for Baustelle: what have they done to you, just let them play...
Justin Timberlake FutureSex/LoveSounds

Dear reviewer, you’ve discovered the wheel: Justin Timberlake is as much a product as a product can be, and Timbaland isn’t the genius everyone claims (Pharrell is 1000 times better, for instance). I want to be nice because today is Epiphany, so I’m giving the album a 2 for the great work of post-production, graphics, and marketing that the honest employees at Jive Records have done; and I’m giving you a 4 because you were nice to your little sister, well done (but if you had given her the dARI it would have been better, at least they make you laugh).

I'm truly very sorry. I remember her very well from Sanremo, and her song was really good and deserving of victory. Rest in peace.

Good review, good album, long live goodness. Well: I’m experiencing university parties now, there’s a lot of diverse fauna and a lot of varied music, and I often hear Vampire Weekend as well. One day a virtual friend of mine suggested I listen to them in an organic way, so I downloaded the CD and listened to it in order, and it’s a good debut: they have bizarre sources and references and arrangements that are, if not clever, at least thoughtfully crafted. I eagerly await the next album.
Gabriella Cilmi Lessons to Be Learned

This page drips with gratuitous cruelty. Well-written review, but too harsh on poor Gabriella, an inexperienced singer, yes, but blessed with a certain voice, a pretty face, and a talented songwriter who knows what to make her sing. I want to give her a 3 on trust after having only listened to the first single, which is truly delightful and, as azzo says, a thousand miles away from Britney and her trampy colleagues' pornographic drivel: surely the album isn't excellent and I'd probably give it a 2, but I want to raise her average since she's also a beautiful girl.
Piero Ciampi Piero Litaliano

4 just for the choice; I will clarify my devotion to this man by revealing that I keep a little book of his poems in my wallet. Piero Ciampi was an artist of immense quality, known to his contemporaries (my mother often spoke of him) and later forgotten; praise to Baustelle for mentioning him in the lyrics of the beautiful "Baudelaire."
Max Gazzè Contro un'onda del mare

I quote voiceface: Gazzè is a talented musician and he often doesn’t get enough recognition. About the album: I like it, but I like everything he has produced, so I'm not a reliable judge; however, I must admit that 5 stars are really too many. In any case, excellent music and arrangements and absolutely amazing lyrics, just like always with Gazzè (his brother writes them, who is probably a genius or a madman or both).
