Robbie Williams Escapology
Voto:
I read comments filled with pure, gratuitous meanness, as usual. Welcome to DeBaser, Menco, and get used to it quickly! ;) Very good review (despite the track-by-track, a bit annoying): you managed to perfectly convey what you wanted in a very clear way. As for Robbie Williams, I think exactly like you: he’s not a genius, for heaven's sake, but as a pop star, I really like him. I believe he has his role both as a character and as an artist, and he has left us some highly enjoyable things that are definitely above average. The album is very pleasant, and "Come Undone" is perhaps the masterpiece of Williams' career—truly stunning; I bought the single back then (and the highly censored video is fantastic too). It would deserve three and a half stars, rounded up to four, but to raise the average, I want to be generous and give it a 5.

@romeo1985: clearly Barbara Gilbo was awful only to me, since everyone is saying nice things about her... Karima really interesting and Arisa a bizarre phenomenon that could mark Italian music forever or disappear overnight: time will tell.
Vanilla Sky Changes

They are not the best, but they have good intentions and a solid foundation, and their cover of "Umbrella" by Rihanna is a lot of fun, as is the rest of the album. Nothing groundbreaking, but not painful either. To the detractors of Vanilla Sky: it's not that I particularly appreciate them (I simply don’t change the channel when their video is on), but giving them a chance wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Absolutely delightful record and a truly enjoyable listening experience. This year in Sanremo, many have said it and rightly so, the New Proposals were definitely better than the Bigs, and specifically Malika Ayane was among the best for her grace and expressive capability. I wish her a long and happy rising career.

Excellent review, very enjoyable to read and really fun as well. As for Marco Cartaigienica: "the only way is down from here."

My first Murakami novel. I read it as a teenager in the red Feltrinelli edition, and (although I liked it) honestly, it didn’t have a particularly strong impact on me, but it was intriguing enough to push me to read more by this author. Now I’m 25 and I plan to pick it up again before I hit my thirties: I’ll probably have a completely different experience.

I quote madcat: damn Oasis, Blur forever. I still have the VHS (which I keep as a relic) bought in England where I went to wash my clothes in the Thames in a sort of musical pilgrimage. I didn't know the DVD was out, and as soon as I can, I'm buying it.

an extremely interesting album precisely because it is filled with unexpected values and ideas that are in the air, potentially, but already in the air. Excellent review.
