A bit of an off-topic discussion: I’ve never been thrilled by Richard Bona, not even in his solo albums. I really don’t understand how he has all these esteemed collaborations, guest appearances, and accolades. He seems quite flat and predictable to me. What do you think, if you think anything?

Yes yes caravan, when it comes to technique and creativity, we’re good. However, regarding music in the strict sense, I have some doubts about the feeling of today’s Bollani. I appreciate some sketches, like the one you mentioned. But, I have the feeling that behind the desire to have fun and to "make fun" of the little jazz professors, there’s also a lack of creativity. I listened to Bollanicarioca and saw it live on tour; the album has a stellar rhythm section (Armando Marcal, Ze Nogueira), but aside from that, I don't recall any outstanding numbers from Bollani. For heaven’s sake, maybe it’s just my issue, but this easy easy jazz, made for genre tourists, has worn me out a bit. Are we sure that Rava, Bosso, and Bollani are doing good for Italian jazz, even at the mainstream level?
