Voto:
Good job Acqualife, I need to "study" this Ferrell a bit, I'm unprepared.

A monster, oozing class and energy. This is what I felt, and I must say it's a great album, although I still believe that the peak of Carlton's career remains "No Substitution" with Lukather. A 5-star review, written by a die-hard Carlton fan, and therefore not objective; I would have done the same, or rather worse :)) Regards, Jake.

I like this DeBaser-Connection! It already happened a while ago with Ralph Towner, if I'm not mistaken. Congratulations, Doctor, especially for mentioning that monster Kirk Whalum. A question for you: is it possible that "room 335" is missing from the collection? It's definitely my favorite.
Pino Daniele Vai Mo' Live @ Piazza del Plebescito - Napoli 08.07.08

@peachtree: instead, the connections between Pino Daniele and blues are there. Due to the attitude of some albums, I'm talking about the period '77-'85. In his early albums, Pino heavily incorporates blues patterns in his compositions. Take "Nero a Metà," where there are contemporary references to the blues from across the ocean. That he has "moved away" from it in the last 15 years or more is beyond doubt, and we all agree on that.

From the TV, everything seemed very artificial and out of place. I didn't like "Napul'è" in a Coca Cola commercial style; even Senese, who is usually volcanic and full of energy, seemed dull and just went through the motions. They managed to make even the great classics of the past like "Viento'e Terra" taste bland. Then Milly Carlucci, who prohibits every song just to say clichés ("Napul'è na carta straccia, what do you think?" - a phrase repeated to every guest in the backstage)... oh well. Everything was very lackluster.
