Gary Willis Actual Fiction

The review is well-structured. Honestly, I don't digest the sampled batteries very well, but out of curiosity, I’ll give them a listen. I just read that Gary Willis has also collaborated with Shorter and Holdsworth, so at least he knows what he’s doing. Great recommendation.

Good review. I saw them two years ago in the province of Lecce. Palmer is monstrous, but after a while, all the technicalities of the blond guy bored me. Then the bassist at one point proudly turned on the LEDs on his bass... well, I don’t want to argue about ELP, but I don’t like this lineup, especially that guitarist.

Congratulations Dr. Adder, a group that sounds new to me, but the compliments go to you and your equipment. I advise you to contact a union for your mobbing issues. Best regards, Epifanici.

I saw the movie about a month ago and felt the same emotions as OleEinar.
I am graduating in Environmental Science and Technology (don't say "who cares!"). My Environmental Hygiene professor is from Naples and practically commutes, so he experiences the situation and understands it, he doesn’t just talk nonsense. Some time ago in class, he had a long chat with us about the environmental disaster in Naples. The real problem is that no one knows what to do in Naples, even from a technical standpoint. It’s incredibly difficult to plan restoration plans; it’s unclear where to start. In some respects, it’s a completely new situation.
A census of illegal dumps would be necessary, but how do you do it? Analyzing tons of composite toxic waste in thousands of sites, coming from who knows what industrial plant (usually from the north) is no small feat. It’s not like you have a mountain of various rubbish, fill a bucket and take it to the lab, and in two days you know what’s inside. Planning cleanup campaigns takes a lot of time, and that time is lacking. In short, without dragging it out, even if we do the absolute maximum that can be done now, the emergency will likely persist for another 10-15 years.
So even though I’m not from Naples, I understand Alessio and Supersoul's anger; you can’t expect them to be “politically correct”; in some neighborhoods, people can’t use tap water because it comes out with bubbles.
In conclusion, with a touch of pride or if you prefer pure local pride, can I remind you that we from Lecce also have our own record? Lung cancers, thanks to the Cerano Power Plant. It’s a bit like Pietro Mennea's 19.82; we take pride in it... :)

Dolphy, I missed this one, on August 7th I was on the cliffs of S. Maria di Leuca! Congratulations on the review and for the ear: I also noticed the affinity between "Offering" and the theme of "A Love Supreme." As for the album, well... what can I say...

@acqualife. I'm not from Rome (alas?), but I'm from Salento and I live in Lecce. Thanks for the tip about Brecker's albums; I'll look for some files online and then consider buying them, as I always do. Nowadays, I prefer to "shop" for records through catalog magazines; it's definitely less fun than wandering around stores and relying on instinct, but it saves a few euros. And you should see the poor selection of record stores in my area.
@antoniodeste. Congratulations on your connections, whether they are deep friendships or fleeting chats. Your thoughts on the individuals you've met validate my thesis on the humanity of jazz musicians. I believe humility in this field is directly proportional to skill. Of course, that's not always the case (Miles and Dizzy are two antithetical examples), but I think the principle holds. Don't worry about the jokes regarding my existential condition as a "Terrone"; I'm not at all touchy, and you can tell when someone is joking or being playful. Until next time, provided you find it pleasant to discuss music with someone who lives "Beyond the Padania Sky," ehehhe!

Yes, it's true and it's part of "Bright Size Life", an album that I personally adore and that is often underrated by (I don't love this word) Pat's fans, considering it to be too "immature"; I am a convinced methenyite and I first heard Brecker in "80/81";
Regarding Brecker, in addition to "Shadows and Light", I recently bought "Tales From The Hudson" (money very well spent) and "Pilgrimage" (not so much!).
From the "Steps Ahead" period, I have listened to "Step by Step" and the self-titled "Steps Ahead", but unfortunately, I don't own them yet.
It's fair to consider him a great tenor player, but I prefer those who are more "carnivorous", more passionate, like the other Redman, Joshua.

@aqualife. Thank you for the welcome back.
In fact, I would have returned sooner if I had had the chance to connect. Damn router!
Bob Berg, I must say, has never really impressed me, although, as antoniodeste rightly pointed out, one must acknowledge his great technical mastery; but it’s known, technique isn’t everything.
And perhaps a similar discussion could be made for Michael Brecker (with the necessary proportions, of course; Brecker is on another level).
