RECESpallaBob is now among the best of DeB. Mimmo Epifani is great, I've seen him twice. Maybe next year I'll go see this festival myself. Cheers.

Nice reviews. Just so you know, is that the blind guitarist playing in an old Patrick Swayze movie?

And I add: the last 15 years means the period from 1993 to today.
"I Can't See Your House From Here," "Beyond the Missouri Sky," "Quartet," "Metheny Mehldau," and "The Way Up" are great albums, "Beyond..." and the first with Mehldau are masterpieces (and I’m not the only one saying this). There are certainly other albums in the mix that are not as successful, but for me, the production is excellent.
"Day Trip" is definitely an album of great value, and Pat seems to have achieved a strong rapport with Antonio Sanchez (a monster) and McBride. He is not just an excellent craftsman; he is objectively something more. And this is not a polemic, mind you, it is a calm evaluation.

Well, I know there are plaster casts that testify to Hendrix's "greatness," or if you prefer, his "human depth" (what sophisticated jokes, huh?). Let's say the lady had her good reasons for doing what she did... Jokes aside, you’re a real drummer, right? But are there words to describe what Tony Williams does on this record? It's absurd! During a listen of "Orbits," I rewound the record several times on certain passages because I just couldn’t keep up rhythmically; he does things that my current skills can’t even begin to grasp. Listening to these Aliens sometimes energizes and inspires you, but at times, it also leaves you feeling overwhelmed.

Enbar, I really didn't know this one at all. Thank you for the suggestion and "don't worry," you're certainly not writing anything bad. By the way, Lina Sastri truly has charm to spare.

How angry it makes me not to understand anything about this wonderful music.
Willie Nelson Wynton Marsalis Two Men With The Blues

I was afraid of being the only one who finds Wynton obnoxious, but it turns out I’m in good company. Willie Nelson, mea culpa, I don’t know him. "L'America oggi imperialista e domani pacifista": perhaps today imperialist and tomorrow... likewise.
