Melodies that are a bit too kitsch for my taste. Death metal officially died in 1993. Since then, very few masterpieces and even fewer bands that have managed to innovate (see Opeth).

Barrett is overrated, the rock meteor. I've never appreciated the beginnings (still, The Piper is a very pleasant album), for me they'll do much better already with Ummagumma and More.

There were already two (valid) reviews of Dopethrone: one written from the heart (Moonchild) and one written with the head (Rocky). What was the need for this triple review? (also poorly written; the final closing brings everything down)... as for the album, a work of ART, for me the central part (Weird Tales, Barbarian, I the Witchfinder) is the most terrible.

Opeth Heritage

I agree: a major misstep in an almost perfect career (the albums with Lindgren are the best). The more time goes by, the more I find this Heritage lacking; in hindsight, I wouldn't give it four stars. Let's hope it's an isolated incident: if Akerfeldt wants to have fun with old prog, then he'd better pursue projects and collaborations, but nothing under the name Opeth. By the way: Storm Corrosion (Akerfeldt + Wilson) is on the way; I think it will be terrible, I'm saying it!
