Allow me a small but heartfelt comment. The people who have rated this film with a 1 (not the review, that is more than legitimate) seem to be detractors of Benigni, and this saddens me greatly. I know it is difficult to separate the person from their work, but to negatively judge the film based solely on possible dislikes towards the actor seems to me a huge limitation. To go so far as to say that it is not funny at all, and even that it is terrible seems to me an overreaction driven, as I said, by hatred towards the person rather than a judgment on the film itself. For goodness' sake, let's not say senseless vicious things; where would the exploitation of the down syndrome be???? This is simply a ridiculous statement.
