Uriah Heep Come Away Melinda: The Ballads
Voto:
Sorry, Battlegods.
A "brick" review, imprecise and written somewhat haphazardly; "Lady in Black" just doesn't fit like the Byrds.
I won't argue about the quality of the songs, but the album itself is quite useless, one of the 1000 compilations published by a label (I believe it's Castle/Communication) devoted to discographic excess and to fleecing more or less unsuspecting fans.
Much better to get the original albums, reissued with bonus tracks.

Your sister is better off as a sheep in front of me, asshole. Fuck you, and here I am, even giving you more rope.

Dear Azzo, I am open to discussion on everything, but by now I no longer trust anyone. I’ve realized that it’s better to listen to an album a bit on my own before deciding if it’s worth the price asked. I agree with you that there will be more reliable de-reviewers than others (and I certainly don't mean dull_flame, especially considering the recent triple flop on Yoko Ono); however, I'm not very clear on the usefulness of talking about an album that will be released in over a month, seeing that most (if not all) DeBaserians have the opportunity to download the same album and form their own opinion ahead of time. To find oneself saying "I have it, I've listened to it before anyone else, look how cool I am" seems like something for kids. I no longer believe in newspaper reviews, or only to a certain extent, and if I haven’t listened to at least something first, I no longer buy anything.

What is it, dull_flame? Do you want to censor me? Don’t be afraid to confront me, reply here and not in my review.
I haven't been a member of DeBaser for long (but I have been listening to music for quite some time) and I want to get a sense of the nice people out there... If I don’t read the reviews, how can I understand if they are good or bad?

Ah, dull_flame... You write from a stomach ache.

Well, Azzo, if on Deb we come last, it's because those who come first (legally...) are industry insiders, while we are not. Those who receive the albums in advance have their reasons, which I understand; I understand less those who are driven by a craving for protagonism and decide to review an album that hasn't been released yet, ruining the anticipation for those who are eagerly waiting for its official release.

I remind you that "Vivo Per Lei" was originally recorded by ORO, a group of session musicians who formed a band (like the Steve Rogers Band) and released 3 albums of decreasing quality; the first of these was a half-masterpiece A.O.R. "de' noartri" praised also in magazines like Metal Shock and Flash. The lyrics remained quite in the "heart-love" vein, but if you translate the lyrics of Bon Jovi or Journey, apart from sounding cool because they're in English, they don't say much more. For enthusiasts, it's worth revisiting.

Ah... I like Octavarium, you know...

You're out of your mind... I read somewhere that you're 18, and at that age you think you know everything but you really don't understand a damn thing; it's not always guaranteed that you understand something at 33 (which is how old I am) but at least you’ve seen more of the world, and maybe you can put things into a more accurate perspective, something you're definitely not doing when you quote those albums as the best of the new millennium...
I haven't listened to Blaze's album but I would bet my right ball that there's better stuff out there, "Dance of Death" is decent and "Gods of War" a waste of time and plastic... Listen to "KINGS OF METAL," for crying out loud!
Jackson Browne For Everyman

Someone has already said it, but I'll confirm: Jackson Browne is one of the greatest singer-songwriters to have ever lived. And David Lindley is a genius...
