Well, I didn't like it very much; lately they seem to be playing the same record over and over, always high-level stuff, but I hope for an evolution (they tried with Doomsdayer's Holyday and failed).
I remain attached to the dreamlike watercolors of Black Tar Prophecies Vol's 1, 2, & 3., and to the stylistic maturity of Burning Off Impurities.

Indeed, there are many "poor fools" who unfortunately can't separate the music from the persona. The album deserves a solid 3.5, and once again, the "count" teaches a valuable lesson to those who futilely try to surpass his style.

Great review, and a great album. Due to the hardness and morbidity of the tracks, I have always compared it to the twin album of "Murder Ballads." A great Cave, "biblically" inspired and with the Bad Seeds more fantastic than ever.
