The review is good, musically the work is unbearable, but it holds great symbolic value and was a trailblazer for the many "noises" that would follow.

aside from the nonsense (METAL Machine Music), a Lou Reed in a state of grace who from '89 to 2000 produced 4 memorable albums: NY, Magic and Loss, Set the Twilight Reeling (perhaps the weakest), and the magnificent Ecstasy...

I really liked Wall of Voodoo, but then I lost track (or rather, I lost ear) of Ridgway's usual works. I miss his mocking and nasal voice, his grimaces—I need to recover some albums soon, starting with this one. Thanks for the tip and compliments on the review.
