Well, the issue of artistic movement/political movement is always complex, and in a group, you always find diversities; my point was simply to say that one cannot disdain someone's artistic ability because of their political ideas. I don't like the behavior of a lot of characters in music, literature, etc... not only from a political standpoint but also from a behavioral one, yet I can't say I despise their art if they are truly good. I can say I disdain them because I don't share their artistic choices, as alessioiride said, for example; otherwise, I really couldn't.

@ CARLO CIMMINO: then antidemocratic is not synonymous with fascist, I might not consider democracy the best form of government and that’s how I become antidemocratic! :D...anyway, aside from these word games, I think that at that time an intellectual would have taken various things into account before taking a stance; evidently the fact that Pirandello had Garibaldian ideas led him to support Mussolini, and then he distanced himself from him. @HOLDSWORTH: a lot of super cool artists were fascists, but they were commendable in their art...think of all futurism; I abhor fascism but honestly, I find it hard to despise these people.
