hahaha I didn't understand almost anything of what DeLorenzo said in the last post :DDD!! I mean, what I gathered is that we're not living according to secular law anymore! Well, I believe that. Do you think this world is governed? It seems to me that everyone has long since stopped caring about the law; it's something that remains in books to entertain academic minds. I would also cheer for natural law, but in the end, I am aware of its utopian nature. This is not about living according to universal principles or laws set by those who govern us; this society is so corrupted that each individual has their own universal principle, very cute, very simplistic and straightforward: do what suits them while trampling on others! Even the very universal principles that everyone would like the other to respect! But by now everyone knows that these premises are not taken into account, so everyone acts like Machiavelli's Princes, not just in politics, but in every aspect of their lives. Moreover, especially the period of dictatorships like the one we went through (after all, it hasn't been that many years), in my opinion, has led people to believe that if everyone imposes their own dictatorship on others, maybe that's the best thing (a reasoning that considers people a lot, yes yes, very generous! >_<). I believe that law should go hand in hand with ethics, whether it's secular, positive, natural, or whatever the hell it is. So objective ethics and not subjective morality: ethicsethicsethicsethics. As long as a person doesn't have this, they won't have the "strength" to do anything meaningful, and together we will live as we do now, in filth. Unfortunately, coexistence often leads to compromises, and now no one wants to make them because we live in a world where being competitive is everything. I'm not saying a bit of competitiveness isn't useful because when it's healthy, it can improve things, but there must always be ethics. So, I've made my early morning banal speech; if someone responds with overly high-sounding terms, I won't know how to reply, because essentially my knowledge of law, philosophy, etc., has been stuck for years now! :DDD
