@London but McCartney actually used the Hofner during the sessions that would later constitute a large part of "Let it be."

@Larrok it's clear that they cannot be compared to the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, or Gong, and we agree that fundamentally they are pop-rock songs, but the psychedelic aspect, as you also confirm, was the result of an attempt to broaden their musical horizons. In fact, I was responding to the statement "the Beatles never even touched on psychedelia."

and I would also add "Fixing a hole," "Sun King," and especially "I want you (she's so heavy)"

Sorry larrok, "Tomorrow never knows", "Rain", "Lucy in the sky with diamonds", "For the benefit of mister Kyte", "Magical mystery tour", "Flying", "Blue jay way", "Strawberry fields forever", "only a northern song", "It's all too much" (I mention the first that come to mind) have nothing to do with psychedelia? Not to mention tracks like "Lovely rita", "A day in the life", "I am the walrus", sure with a pop-rock foundation but with clear psychedelic disruptions.

The album where we can first tangibly perceive the maturation of the Beatles. I find it very refined and poetic both in terms of lyrics and music. Among the masterpieces, I would also include "Nowhere Man," "Wait," "In My Life," and "I'm Looking Through You," but in general, the inspiration is abundant in the grooves of this album. If we consider that from the sessions of "Rubber Soul" also emerged two singles like "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," and that in the same year "Help!" was released, we realize the state of grace (which will accompany them up to and including "Let It Be") of the fabulous four. Speaking of the recently remastered and reissued series, I recommend purchasing the double "Past Masters 1&2," which contains all the singles released by the Beatles that never appeared on official albums, including versions more or less different from those on the LPs of "Revolution," "Across the Universe," "Let It Be," and the versions for the German market of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You."

"on the magic and sacredness of the Haka (which if I were a true Maori I would be angry to see it performed in such an undignified context)" I had thought the same, identical, thing. And if you then see that they even use it for Fiat commercials, it all seems even more pathetic. Bah, good for them.

With this, I do not mean to underestimate the importance of Wakeman. It's just that they managed very well even without him (and I'm referring to the amazing "Symphonic live").

Agreed with Templare. And then without Jon, it makes no sense to me. Wakeman is fine, but fundamentally it has to be Alan White, Squire, Howe, and Anderson. And to think that just a few years ago they came in full force and I missed them.
