No, in my opinion it's not a 5. Less inspired than the previous album and perhaps a bit too one-dimensional, this third work. Even live (I attended one of their concerts during the Carnival Bizarre tour) the songs from this album didn't convince me much; decent, around a 3.5... with some emotional peaks here and there.

A 3.5 record. They wanted to go overboard and used cheap technological (not technical) means: the result is sonically quite gaudy. The production is bizarre, very metallic and acidic, not the best for highlighting the band's experiments. Of course, if they had had access to real strings and less screechy production, the final result would have been quite different.

I was aware of the work done by Di Donato; unfortunately, I never had the chance to listen to it. It's a pity that the discs present here do not include the albums Abbatia St. Clementi and Refugium Peccatorum.

I have it, and although it can't be said to be very original, it is an engaging and well-executed work. The reviewer might perhaps draw less heavily from the vocabulary and reviews of Giampiero Fleba. It's not plagiarism, but it's still not a great read... ;)
