I have the first one, picked up in those early 00s along with many other debuts from bands that emerged during that time. However, the impression is that very few of that bunch of new bands that came out in that period have lived up to the "promises." I should at least try to get their second.

However, I say this without any polemics, I still don’t understand why the release of certain material from the box set With the Lights Out would make sense (there were recordings and even "homemade" demos that were certainly not intended for release, just like on this record) and this wouldn’t. The fact that in the box set (I repeat, excellent) there was indeed interesting musical material and here, well, it can only leave one perplexed, we completely agree, but if someone is scandalized by the release of this, they should be scandalized by many things published about Cobain (first and foremost the Diaries and the last film) in recent years. Personally, I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, if it’s ethical or not, probably not, actually definitely not, but I’m always interested in his music or at least it always piques my curiosity, even when it comes to material like this, so I listen to it and screw everything else. In short, they published the private Diaries (that for me is unacceptable) and private home video footage in the film (same story) and now that they’re releasing some "musical" material (again, they had already done something like this among the material in With the Lights Out) everyone is scandalized? I don’t get it.

The only product I wanted to purchase among the various diaries and the film that were released. Why did I buy it? I'm interested in listening to everything he has produced, and I’ve always thought that, unlike the diaries and the film, it was still right to publish his music (a bit like certain material from the box set). The album is invaluable, of course. The version of Do re mi included here is very different (it lasts about 10 minutes, by the way) and much more interesting than the garbage released in the box set (which still remains, that one is definitely great). Nice review.

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness are two masterpieces. The other 3 (I don't know the post-"Machina") have never thrilled me, although they are still good.

I followed them all the way to Rioct act, which is their worst along with this one.

Bitter disappointment for me, having rushed to buy it after that masterpiece "In Absentia." The songwriting takes a nosedive and it all turns out to be rather dull, clichéd, and uninspired. Fortunately, they will bounce back with the next one.

I saw the trailer at the cinema (unfortunately I went to see the latest Verdone film, he had never made anything so bad, in comparison Gallo cedrone and the 2/3 unwatchable scenes of Grande grosso e verdone shine with their own light), but your review has really convinced me, definitely worth watching.

"Congregation" is one of my favorite records, "Gentleman" another great one. I don't know this one, but everyone says it's more or less on the same level as the aforementioned. 2+2 equals 4. I need to check it out.

Beautiful review, album not listened to but who knows. The final quote is touching.
