Your (excellent) review almost makes me want to try listening to them again with this new album: I listened to the previous one, which as I already wrote, disappointed me completely. I would really define it as "much ado about nothing," with a level of songwriting that seemed close to zero, and with Onda Rock giving it a higher rating than In Utero by Nirvana (it seems they gave this one an even higher score than the previous), really incomprehensible. The references (Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine, Husker Du, Sonic Youth) should make me like them, I don't know, maybe I'll give it another shot. I remember that a couple of years ago, along with "II," I also picked up Peanut Butter by Joanna Gruesome, and there was really no comparison in terms of songwriting.

Of what I know about Neil Young, I appreciate the electric side the most (I devoured Ragged Glory, Weld, Psychedelic Pill; Harvest didn't blow me away), so I don't think I'll listen to this latest one. I'll definitely have to catch up on many others first (that On the Beach above all, I think).

I have Beck's trio "Mellow Gold" - "Odelay" - "Mutations", then I kind of lost track of him, I should at least catch up on that "Sea Change" that you mention as essential and which I've actually always heard great things about (on the "1000" of Mucchio it’s even listed as one of his fundamental albums alongside "Mellow Gold").

I saw them too, along with Ufomammut and another band (I think) of the same genre whose name I can't remember a few years ago.

I have the first two, I like them (especially Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, for which I got the deluxe version) but I'm not crazy about them like other '90s bands, so I won't be going to get the later ones.

Here I am, so for those who know them only up to Timothy's Monster (the peak of the first phase) and for those who don't know them at all, the first album to check out is Trust Us, where they achieve a virtually perfect balance between sound, songwriting, and a penchant for musical expansion. Of course, the aforementioned Blissard and Angel & Deamons at Play are also excellent. I’ll add the previously mentioned "Black Hole/Blank Canvas," another masterpiece that I personally prefer over Blissard and Angel & Deamons at Play. And for now, I would say that should suffice; there are many other albums of theirs worth mentioning (besides the ones reviewed, I would think of "Little Lucid Moments," or even the new "The Tower") but for those who don't know them or know them little, those 4 mentioned are enough for the moment.

Masterpiece within a masterpiece. Black Mirror is, in my preferences as a TV series, second only to that milestone, Breaking Bad. Indeed, it is so far the best "episode" (but it would be better to define it as a film, as hj says) of a series that boasts an extremely high average level.

I haven't yet sailed the seas of cheese, nor drunk the pig's soda, so I'm definitely not going to listen to this (at least for now).
