The review is nice, but I don't like the group. However, I really didn't understand the phrase "those magnificent 80s" and I don't agree with it. The 80s were important for the underground that paved the way for the 90s rock, in my opinion—Sonic Youth, Pixies, R.E.M., just to name a few.

@Voodoomiles give at least doolittle, bossanova, and trompe le monde a listen; they are more compact and less sprawling compared to the excellent surfer rosa + ep. I also started with surfer rosa and the ep, and it took a few listens to fully appreciate it.

@Fosca It's probably best to start with "Doolittle," perhaps the most varied and representative. If you like it, then go for the other three "Surfer Rosa," which in the CD edition also includes the first EP "Come on Pilgrim," and the highly recommended ones, often underestimated by many (as I read in the comments and reviews), "Bossanova" and "Trompe le Monde." I realize that when I write, I'm often too concise; I'll try to elaborate a bit more in the future.

Fosca, for me this is the most beautiful, the first one doesn't even reach a passing grade, it's the worst among those they've made, the subsequent ones are just a big rock, the suicide of the samurai and this one are excellent.
